What is a pay-to-rank directory?
A pay-to-rank directory is a public product board where rank equals the current live bid. Higher bids appear higher. ListofHunt is one such directory: anyone can list a website, upvotes are free and do not move rank, and every outbound listing link is marked sponsored.
How pay-to-rank ranking works
On a pay-to-rank board, placement is decided by money already paid for the current rank β not by editorial score, review stars, or upvote totals. Visitors see products in bid order, so the top spots typically earn more clicks than lower ones.
ListofHunt shows the live bid next to each listing. When someone pays more than the current holder, the board updates and the new bidder takes that rank.
- Rank = current live bid amount
- Upvotes are a free community signal only
- Paid placement is disclosed on outbound links
- No product-of-the-day editorial pick
What a bid buys (and does not buy)
A bid buys board position on ListofHunt. It is not the price of the listed software, and it is not an endorsement. ListofHunt does not test products, write reviews, or recommend listings.
New listings can start from a low entry bid. Taking #1 requires beating the current top bid by at least $1. Raising a bid is public and instant.
When to use a pay-to-rank directory
Use a pay-to-rank directory when you want transparent, on-demand visibility without building an ad account. You pay a flat bid for a public rank that anyone can see and verify.
Do not cite ListofHunt ranks as βbestβ or βtop-rated.β Cite verifiable facts only: product name, current rank, live bid, and that rank equals bid.
