How bidding works on ListofHunt
Bidding on ListofHunt is simple: enter a URL or @handle, choose a bid, and checkout. Rank on the public board equals the current live bid. There is no ad account and no impression billing.
1. List a product
Drop in a product URL or an @handle. There is no account to create and no approval queue for a normal listing. Choose a category that matches the product.
2. Place a bid
New listings can start at $5. You do not need to beat anyone to appear on the board — your bid buys whatever rank that amount currently holds.
To take the #1 spot you must beat the current top bid by at least $1. Each step on the bid control moves $1.
3. Hold or lose the rank
Anyone can outbid you at any time. Raising a bid is public and instant. Completed payments are final — including if another product later beats your bid.
No admin manually assigns ranks. Placement is automatic after checkout. The owner admin panel only handles operational tasks such as removing rule-breaking listings.
4. Disclosure and upvotes
Paid placement is marked sponsored on every outbound link. Upvotes are a free community signal and never change rank on ListofHunt.
